In Greek myth Zeus took the form of a white bull and carried the Phoenician princess Europa across the sea to Crete. The continent of Europe is named after her. Italy used this image on its 2005 two-euro coin to mark the first anniversary of the signing of the European Constitution in Rome in October 2004.
